Italian Grand Prix

The Italian Grand Prix is one of the longest running events on the Formula One calendar & was in fact one of the inaugural championship races back in 1950. Monza has been hosting this unique and prestigious event every year bar one, 1980, when it was held at the Imola circuit. Despite qualifying on pole position in the 2016 race, Mercedes driver; Lewis Hamilton, was unable to extend his lead at the top of the World Drivers' Championship after he was beaten to first place by Nico Rosberg, with Sebastian Vettel finishing in third.
